Fundraiser Cat Dishes: Blue and Yellow - Taylor

This piece was handmade by Taylor: thrown, trimmed, detailed, fired, glazed, and fired again in our home studio. It is dishwasher and microwave safe. It bears the paw print stamp of my best buddy Shy Guy, who passed away last spring. 

This bowl is part of my Kentucky Animal Tales fundraiser. Half the purchase price of each bowl is donated by me to KY Animal Tales. You may remember this is the organization we adopted Peggy from, and I make the donations in her memory.

Kentucky Animal Tales is a Kentucky volunteer-based nonprofit organization whose charitable mission is animal welfare and rescue efforts, located primarily within the state of Kentucky. KAT strives to rescue animals from a variety of situations, including instances of abuse, endangerment, and/or neglect. KAT coordinates with humane societies, shelters, veterinarian offices, other nonprofits, and/or private persons to intake and subsequently foster, vet, and adopt-out animals. KAT also takes in “strays” and/or owner surrenders. 

In addition to fostering, vetting, and adopting-out animals, efforts include the spay/neuter of family-owned pets and the Trap, Neuter, and Return (“TNR”) of community/feral/stray cats. KAT also views “animal rescue efforts” as including educating the public regarding ongoing issues, such as responsible pet ownership and overpopulation. KAT intends to utilize a network of volunteer advocates, local veterinarians, fosters, shelters, and other rescue organizations to further its charitable mission.
